However, the price I got from one place for the number of veluxes I wanted was 10k approx, whereas the same products from Fakro was 5k approx.

Regard wether to select Velux or Fakro… Fakro have Z-wave windows. I havnt tried though. But at least this is a very good supported interface for working with openhab. I would contact Fakro and ask to get a communication module to test with a Z-wave controller. I dont know if these windows have been added to the database yet, but that should.

1.2k. Posted October 21, 2020. Fakro are usually more expensive than velux but it's a better product imo - if it's special sizes I can't see how it's cheaper than velux at all! If the spec is what you want and you're getting the right flashing kit etc then it's a no brainer for me but I check the specs thoroughly as fakro have endless options.

Not only that, Velux have superior glass, thermal values and better seals. There is no comparison between Velux and other roof lights. The cost difference reflects the quality.you get what you pay for.
